This doomsday financial crisis is all chicken little whining. There is plenty of money for education. The problem is we spend it on the wrong things. Take football for example. I would be willing to bet that all high schools with football teams spend at least ten times as much on the football program as they do on their library. That is not to mention all of the other sports. In fact, I think many schools spend more heating their swimming pools than they do on their libraries. As long as we put things like football ahead of learning academic subject we are going to have a mediocre school system.
