August is not a big education news month, so everyone latched onto this Campbell Brown-Randi Weingarten kerfuffle like a lamprey.

The debate quickly shifted from whether unions are overdoing their protection of teachers accused of sexual misconduct, to whether Campbell Brown is being manipulated by her Evil Puppetmaster husband, who has a history of converting her from one set of beliefs to another (I’m expecting this angle on Media Matters soon).

But what if the Evil Puppetmaster is actually her Democrat father, former Louisiana state senator Jim Brown, once convicted of lying to the FBI?
