Here’s a Headline You Don’t See Every Day

Reviving Idaho’s Luna laws would spark third recall effort, says twice-failed comedian

The placement of the adjective “twice-failed” is a bit misleading, since it refers to two failed efforts to recall Idaho Gov. Butch Otter and Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Luna after they enacted several education laws that have since been overturned in referenda.

However, the failed recall efforts were led by a Boise stand-up comic, Pete Peterson, who is putting together a new recall committee on the off-chance the governor and superintendent will attempt to revive their signature laws. Peterson said he will be hosting a campaign kickoff Dec. 27 at Liquid Laughs, a Boise comedy club. He is not the headliner. Watch this amateur video of his act and you’ll see why he got into politics.
