Now that Washington’s Birthday has been turned into a generic Presidents Day, I’ve decided to celebrate Almost Presidents Day, because I almost took the day off.
We salute you, Charles Evan Hughes, Henry Clay, Samuel Tilden, James Blaine and Al Gore. We raise a snifter of brandy but, alas, no cigar.
Note: I’ll be traveling and mostly incommunicado for the next couple of weeks, but I’ll leave you with some golden oldies from the EIA vault. We’ll resume normal operations on March 4.
